Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Eric Michael Johnson is an award-winning architectural and lifestyle photographer with studios in San Francisco, Shanghai, and Kyoto. With more than a decade of experience working throughout Asia, he creates photography for international hospitality brands, advertising agencies, architects, designers, and direct clients.

Beginning his career in documentary photography and filmmaking, Eric is an alumnus of the International Center of Photography (ICP), New York. His documentary background continues to inform his commercial work through an emphasis on atmosphere, a sense of place, and the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.

His personal work explores how people live within systems shaped by an increasingly fractured world.
